The Drowning Entrepreneur’s Lifeboat
We’re barely two months into the year 2024, and some of us already feel like we’ve lived as far as halfway into the year because of our workload. That, my dear friend, is the blessing and curse of entrepreneurship.
The Problem?
In the last couple of weeks, I found myself being sucked into this vortex of frustration because my to-do lists seemed unending. Between meeting clients and investors, team meetings, and getting work done, I barely had enough time for myself.
Even more frustrating was the fact that, with all that I had going on, I barely had the time for strategic thinking required to run the business. So, it seemed like I was going through an unending loop of meetings, with little to no time to derive actionable steps and focus on implementation.
And then I realised something - the solution was clear as day.
Meet Delegation, the Entrepreneur’s best friend!
“The best leaders are the ones who know how to delegate.”
Bill Gates
If Bill Gates could say this, then who am I to tell you otherwise?
I soon realised that the key to getting out of the loop of unending to-dos was delegation - I needed to learn to delegate some lower-level tasks so I could free up space to think at a much higher level and focus on execution.
So far, I’d say it’s working out really well, which is why I was able to write this newsletter for you to read and learn.
Food for Thought?
Dear Entrepreneur,
“Deciding what not to do is as important as deciding what to do.”
- Jessica Jackley.
You can’t grow by doing it all by yourself. You need to learn to delegate some tasks and free up your schedule - being busy all the time doesn’t exactly equal productivity.
Until next time, ciao!
